The Passenger Saloons in 1936

Photographs Percy Dunbervand Collection

Upper Saloon looking aft recoloured.jpg (76159 bytes)These photographs have been received from former MSC tug skipper Percy Dunbervand. They reveal the splendour of the accommodation on board the Daniel Adamson following her 1936 refit and upgrading to MSC tender. The art-deco interior is revealed in all its pristine glory.

Several sources suggest that the interior was fitted out by craftsmen from John Browns of Clydebank. This is believed to have occurred as a result of one of the then MSC Directors having travelled on a recently constructed John Brown built liner and being suitably impressed with the interior.

The colour image top left was produced by Steve Greenhalgh.
