Movement of the DANIEL ADAMSON took place in two stages. The first stage was
undertaken on April 08, 2004. This involved extricating the ship from the Dock
at the Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port and moving her into the Manchester Ship
Canal. She was towed down the ship canal by Carmet Towing Tug M.S.C. VICEROY to
Eastham Locks where she was berthed in the entrance to the long abandoned barge
lock.

Once out of Langton Lock, ASHGARTH turned and took up a towing position on the
bow of the DANIEL ADAMSON. She was joined by pollution control vessel POLGARTH,
which took a stern line on the DANIEL ADAMSON. This unusual procession then
made its way through Canada, Huskisson and Sandon Docks to the entrance of
Clarence Graving Dock, where she was made fast at 20:10. (John H. Luxton)
