John Hake tidying up the steering quadrant and aft deck plates, our limestone ballast is temporarily stored there whilst we sort out the aft bilges. John had to lift it all out, clean up and then replace it once more, by the finished result he could be a dab hand with 'dry stone' walling!  New Member Gordon Owen ( a joiner by trade) enjoying his first working party. After taking measurements and sketching the forward deck planking to supplement the detailed photographs already taken by John Luxton, Gordon sets about lifting a short section of the rotten timbers to check out the plating beneath The plating revealed! Not bad considering, we expected far worse, hopefully it will all be like this as we continue to lift the timbers to protect the deck from any further deterioration.
